This home was the opposite of a “blank canvas” where I was working with existing furniture and rugs. The owners had colonial tastes but needed an updated look. I went with soft blue walls, recovered the chair and loveseat, and had some throw pillows made. The bay windows needed drama so I worked outside the perimeter of the bay, designing custom draperies, and provided cleaner silhouette blinds to bring a wider panorama to the room. The trick here was to layer the patterns and balance the colors and motif to create continuity for the eye.
